Shri Ashok  Pandey ji started his basic education and training  of singing in the supervision of  Ardhendu Sekhar Bandyopadhyay in Kolkata, West Bengal. After 10 years of his musical training he was the burning desire to learn  Tappa And Thumri for that  he shifted from Bengal  to Varanasi. He used to spent day and night with the Guru’s to learn “Banaras Gharana” music . A very interesting story about Him  that he used to learn music and did “sadhna” during midnight to morning till 5 am. Every day around 5 to 6 hours he used to train himself in which he learned mandra saptak, madhya saptak and tar saptak. Out of three saptak,  he has an extraordinary knowledge  and a good hold in Mandra Saptak and among the various raag he was excellent in  the alaap and palta, which was appreciated by his Gurus..He believes that music heals the health problem , and if one follows and practices on time the one can never have any health problem. He believes that music is as a yog sadhna and through music anybody can concentrate his or her mind .
After few days he moved  to West Bengal for his graduation degree course in Geography, along with his degree course he used to practice in Sangeet Sadhana , During the study period, he was called by the Delhi Doordarshan for Bhajan recording . Then he spent few days in Delhi to learn Delhi Gharana Music. He has done numbers of musical TV shows in Delhi.
In DD television he had done shows based on Bhajan, he was the part of the programme named “Subah Savere”. Then he participated in Hindustani classical, organized by HCL Technologies, Delhi. He presented the show as singer in Indian International Center, Delhi and lot more

Finding success in music he came to Mumbai. He got inspired after meeting  era’s legends like  Mani Prasad Jee, Pandit Jasraj Ji, Gautam Mukherjee, Gajal Samrat Late Jagjit Singh , the Sufi singer Hans Raj Hans and many more.He said  “, In Diggajon ke sath rehaker main sangeet ki atmaa se rubaru hua “. Many film actors and singer have appreciated his singing talent. The singers who appreciated him were late Manna dey, Suresh Wadkar, Chandan Das, Kumar Sanu, Abhijeet Bhattacharya, Anand Raj Anand and Usha Uthup. Due to his hard work and dedication he was selected as a judge of singing show names as "Bharat Ki Shaan".His work and simplicity is appreciated by the film Industry also  awarded by the big organizations  He always tried to encourage  people to learn music and he discovered talents among the young generation. He was awarded for his contribution in music history. Now he is the president and chief  of Sanskritik Prakoshth ( all India)  under Akhil Bharatiya Saraswata Parishad .". After becoming the chief he tried to generated curiosity in minds of people regarding  Music. He is trying to trigger the talent in the youth so that Indian music would never become a forgotten history.
